BODRUM

Beaches
Bardaci Bay Beach is 2 km from the centre of Bodrum and there are many other beaches to the west offering watersports.  Visit nearby Bagla, Karaincir and Turgutreis for marvellous coves and beaches. The Bay of Bitez is ideal for surfing, a favourite with gently shelving sands and ideal for windsurfing.Eating out 
You really are spoilt for choice when hunger strikes in Bodrum. There is an endless selection of bars and restaurants offering something for just about everyone, although Turkish cuisine as well as pizza are the most common dishes on the menu.

Nightlife 
Take a stroll along the marina promenade or for a late and lively night the Old Town is packed with bars and cafes to entertain you.

Shopping 
Bodrum has some of the best shopping in Turkey with a covered bazaar and an impressive choice of designer shops along the marina and in the new Oasis Centre. Shops range from traditional to contemporary, whilst the nearby weekly market at Turgutreis is a great chance to barter for local bargains.

Local info 
For sightseeing and Turkish culture, visit the harbour, shops, bars and cafés. Medieval in parts it is overlooked by an old Crusader castle and is definately worth a visit.

Sports 
Bodrum offers lots of watersports as does Gumbet. Bitez is the place to go if you have windsurfing or sailing in mind as it is a top destination for both, whether you are a novice or expert.

ALTINKUM

For those of you who are staying in Altinkum you will have opportunity to explore the popular resort of Bodrum. Wander through the busy bazaar and get your last minute shopping or have fun at the water park.

Market Day
This is your chance to experience the real sights and sounds of Turkey. Colourful stalls of fruit, vegetables and spices will tempt you before you even catch sight of the souvenirs - leather bags and jackets, cotton clothing, ceramics, brass and of course, Turkish Delight. You'll certainly get some bargains that will remind you of your holiday in this beautiful country.

DALYAN

Cruise down the Dalyan River with its changing vista of reed beds, meadows and trees. See the eerie Lycian Rock Tombs from 400BC carved out of the cliff-face high above you; Plunge into the natural sulphur mudbaths and cover yourself from head to toe in therapeutic mud ( it is said to take 10 years off you) let it dry and rinse off in the hot sulphur pool.  Enjoy a light riverside lunch before heading to the Caretta beach, home of the loggerhead turtles.

KUSADASI

One of Turkey's major ports, with cruise ships stopping off each day, Kusadasi is a shopper's paradise and leads the way in terms of value and value.  There is simply everything here that you could wish for, all contained within the huge bazaar area by the harbour.

Be thoroughly cleansed and ready to get that great tan with an authentic Turkish Bath. Clad in your most comfortable swimwear, sit with friends or family on marble heated benches and enjoy a relaxing body loofah scrub.  Enjoy being covered from head to toe with warm soapy bubbles. You will also be massaged thoroughly to relieve those aches and pains and you will feel absolutely squeaky clean afterwards! This is the best way to put your body and mind straight into the holiday mode.

The Peninsula
The Bodrum Peninsula is surrounded by 32 islands and islets and forms a 174 km long coastline.  There are several ways to explore the peninsula, the most enjoyable of which are to visit several of the bays and seaside villages mentioned via one of the daily boat trips available from Bodrum harbor or from any of the local beaches or harbours. The other is to take the Dolmus, (the local bus service) which awaits the passenger for every destination at the bus station on the main road out of town.
